The Waiting Room Project is part of an exhibition that marks the sixth anniversary of the Salina Art Center’s artist-in-residence program. It is a celebration and survey of the first six years of life in the Warehouse, the Art Center’s living and working space for contemporary artists.

February 28, 2012 The non-for-profit Breast Cancer Action (BCA) organization created a "fact sheet" (Tool Kit) that we reference in the PINKING display as part of the breast cancer tableau. Our project was FEATURED in a recent webnar hosted by BCA. Kim Irish, Program Director noted, "We at Breast Cancer Action are so grateful, inspired, and appreciative...We actually featured what you shared during our February webinar as a stellar example..."

The KU Med Office of Cultural Enhancement and Diversity (OCED) Book Program "began in 2000 to exemplify our commitment to your highest educational and personal growth as medical students here in the School of Medicine. We want all student who join our family of learners to value and appreciate diversity, the impact of cultural differences on health and healthcare, and to remember to continue to pursue other aspects of themselves outside medicine and continue to read broadly. The books we have sent in the past were selected as stories about culture in general and the culture of medicine as practiced in America, and how they impact our patients’ health outcomes and the health experiences." A Waiting Room of One's Own was presented to newly admitted students.
